General Description

Stem terete, moderately robust, upper internodes short. LEAVES: Petiole slender, terete, or somewhat flattened on the upper surface towards the apex, shortly sheathed at the base, 25 cm long, 8 mm thick in the lower part, attenuating upwards; Blade 40 cm long, 28 cm wide, thinly coriaceous, cordate-triangular-ovate, apex acuminate, posterior lobes broadly rounded, ca. 3 times shorter than the anterior lobe, separated by a wide obtuse sinus; Costal primary lateral veins ca. 10, spreading from the midrib at an obtuse angle, much stronger than the secondary and tertiary veins, several basal veins joined together into posterior ribs, long-denuded in the sinus. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle short, terete, 3-4 cm long, 6-7 mm thick. Spathe white, purple-spotted, ovate-oblong, apex shortly apiculate, slightly constricted halfway, 10-12 cm long, convolute, 2-2.2 cm in diameter. Spadix obliquely stipitate for almost 1 cm; female zone cylindric 4-4.5 cm long, 1-1.2 cm thick, male zone 5-5.5 cm long, somewhat thicker than the female zone, apex obtuse. Pistils subcylindric, ca. 2 mm long, 1.2 mm wide, stigma rounded. Male flowers 3-4-androus.
