Stem scandent. LEAVES: Petiole terete, 25-30 cm long, with a sheath at the base which is 3-4 cm long, and rather broad at the base and narrowed upwards; Blade slightly coriaceous, elongate-cordate-sagittate, 26-32 cm long, 12-15 cm wide, posterior lobes subtriangular, obtuse, separated by a rectangular sinus; Anterior lobe oblong, apex oblique, acuminate, ca. 6 times longer than the posterior lobe; Primary lateral veins of the posterior lobe 3 on each side, first recurved, then curved upwards near the margin, barely joined at the base, interlobe vein spreading at a sub-right angle, veins of the anterior lobe ca. 12 on each side, spreading from the midrib at an obtuse angle, upwards near the margin. Spadix shortly obliquely stipitate, female zone cylindroid, 2.5-3 cm long, 8 mm thick, male zone fusiform obtuse, 5-6 cm long, 1 cm thick at halfway, attenuate on both ends, sterile above. Pistil ovoid 1.5 mm long, trilocular, with a thick discoid stigma, ovules borne at the base. Male flowers usually tetrandrous; stamens prismatic, thecae broadly oblong, obtuse.
