Kew eTaxonomy Day Presentations

26 May 2011 - Pat Brenan Suite, HLAA, RBG Kew

The aims of the workshop were to: share ideas and techniques; consider different approaches to content and communities; think about taxonomy from the perspectives of different groups of users; and develop ideas on how we move the subject forward at Kew and beyond

The eMonocot Scratchpad Profile: Progress Update

Theme
The eMonocot Scratchpads will all use a standard theme based on the theme used on e-monocot.org. The theme has been modified to allow for a fluid-wdith layout and some element of site customisation. The footer of the site has a different set of logos, and links to a list of all eMonocot Scratchpads.

eMonocot Walks at the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival

As part of the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival three members of the eMonocot team (Paul Wilkin, Ian Kitching & Ed Baker) led two walks in the Axmouth to Lyme Regis National Nature Reserve and surrounding countryside.

Book Now! - eMonocot at Lyme Regis Fossil Festival

The eMonocot led nature walks at the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival are now listed on the Fossil Festival Programme. Spaces are limited to 20 people on each walk, details of how to book your place are given in the Programme.

eMonocot at Lyme Regis Fossil Festival

The Lyme Regis Fossil Festival is an annual event held in the historic seaside village of Lyme Regis, Dorest. The festival celebrates not only the Jurassic fossils but also the modern diversity of life around Lyme Bay.

As part of the celebration this year Ian Kitching (NHM) and Paul Wilkin (RBGK) will be running wildlife walks on the Saturday and Sunday. Starting from Lyme Regis these walks will take visitors to look for wildlife around Lyme Bay, in particular monocot plants (and no doubt insects too).
